17 year old valve and still going strong

A customer from a major UK cement manufacturer has recently been in touch asking if we could offer a quotation to replace one of our Ceramic TWA 300 Extreme Duty Rotary Valves which was starting to show some signs of wear. The valve had been handling fly ash, sometimes more commonly known as PFA (pulverised fuel ash) which is the fine particles of burned fuel that accompany the flue gases driven out from the boiler.…

Large self-cleaning rotary valve

One of our plasterboard manufacturing customers was suffering with a problematic rotary valve that kept blocking up with moist product. The image shows our MVF-X 700 offset self-cleaning rotary valve replacement, which has been custom manufactured to the old valves dimensions and should slot straight in to replace their existing unit, without making any adjustments. The old rotary valve was handling gypsum rock from 70mm down to powder, and was regularly having to be stopped…

New manufacturing facility

A very proud moment for everyone at MID – our new factory. Over the last ten years MID have enjoyed a sustained growth in sales. From the first sale of our Dyris Valve into Boots the Chemist back in the 1960’s, we now work with some of the largest quarrying, cement manufacturing and minerals processing organisations around the world. The new factory will work alongside the old factory on the same site, but effectively more…

New assembly facility opened

We are pleased to announce the opening of an additional production facility in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. The facility more than doubles our assembly capabilities, and was needed as we required space for a large contract to supply slide valves to a fertilizer storage plant near St Petersburg, Russia. Equipped with a custom built assembly system for the valves, these 1500x800mm electrically operated, stainless steel slide valves can be rapidly assembled and stored ready for shipping in…

Leaking shafts

Are you… Spending valuable time maintaining shaft seals on your rotary valves? Spending money on raw materials that end up on the floor? Wasting time and money processing materials that don’t reach the end of the process? Struggling to maintain housekeeping & health & safety standards? Looking for significant productivity improvements? Leaking rotary shaft seals are an ‘age old’ problem that Engineers have been facing for many many years and even though there are a number…

Airslide Valve

Based on the Barrel Control valve, this comes complete with an integral airslide  and vee-notch to control the vlow of cement between airslides. The airslide material is a porous heavy duty polyester with a custom stainless steel protective mesh, designed to aerate the cement so if flows across the base of the valve. Fine control is by using the vee notch shape in the barrel, which, coupled with the 4-20mA pneumatic actuator, allows the downstream airslide…
